How to get out?

okay, i'm not really sure where to start here, and i apologize in advance if this is all over the place.. i basically have come here for your help and advice.

my husband and i got married may of this year, so it has only been 2 months!

he was raised a jw (only by his mother, his dad has never been in the "truth").

One more thought! If your husband wants to go to meetings! ask him if you could change to a different Kingdom Hall! Just one more small step!

The big moral problem you are having is that your Husband is lying to his mother!

Express to your husband that you do not like the lying! and would like to know why he feels the need to lie to his mother? Is there another way to solve the issue with out lying.

Tell your husband the next time he speaks with his mother that he should state," When you see me at the meetings, you will see me.

Perhaps you can state to your mother in law, "Please do not ask me about my attendence anymore because might force me to come up an excuse which is worse than lying, and you know what happens to liars. It is better to be in good standings with Jehovah than with you."

It sound like this is a mother in law problem!

She sounds controlling toward her son and he is trying to keep the peace with her. Some mothers love to have power over their sons! I think many have been there before with the guilt trips!

You need to replace meeting nights with fun things that your husband loves to do.

Does he like the internet? When he gets on the net, sit with him and do fun research together! Start with typing in scriptures, people names, and book titles, for example Revelation 7:2,3, Charles T. Russell, and Revelation It Grand Climax Is At Hand! What ever they are studying at the meetings.

Yes show him this site! If he was raised as a JW it is better that he learns the facts instead of waiting until he is baptized! YOU might prevent future long term pain!

If he does not want to do the above then you do the reseach, print it out, and leave it on the table. First he is going to think it is just lies(denial) that is why you need to be honest with him! Next, he will have to prove to you how it is lies! do not argue just allow him to explain it. After all he knows more than you do, he was raised as a JW. Do not start with Trinity!

Buy the books!

How to get out? Just do not go anymore! like someone wrote me once on this board "Never Go Back." You control where you go!

Literal meal vs. "spiritual meal"

on page 103 of the revised flock book (1991 edition) where it discusses disfellowshipped ones (and social gatherings), it states that "loyal worshippers of jehovah will want to adhere to the inspired counsel at 1 corinthians 5:11.

" the "counsel" given there involves "not even eating" with a disfellowshipped one.

if the rank and file aren't allowed to have a literal meal with the df'd person, how come they're allowed to have a "spiritual meal" with that same person?

I am so ready to pick this book apart and have a good laugh with you, but I need to print it out still.

YOU know I am starting to understand what you are trying to point out. It is like a light when on when I was trying to post!

I mean if they were to put the wicked man away! then why does the JW say that the dfd need to attend meetings!

You really did a good job with this subject! Why not put him out as a rebuke, then when the majority rebuke and mourn for him why not go to him and tell him he can come back, attend, and eat the passover!

hmm! good job! I got it! Why attend? It is not mentioned in 1 Corith that the thrown out guy need to attend? WOW totally against the Bible!

How easy would that be to get your head together and have someone come over and invite you back! It was really tough to set their and not get reinstated!

BBC is a great site to prove how doctines are different in UK than USA. Do you remember the change in doctrine with the blood issues? BBC was there. How about the WTBTS donating blood machines!

I really did not understand how the WTBTS donates blood machines in Europe, and yet I was told in the the USA that one could not even take their own blood.

If I handed in a paper like that ... I'd fail!

something always bugged me about the society's publications.

they'd always use phrases like "many persons do this" or "one expert says", or "many believe".

the person being referred to or quoted is always veiled in obscurity.

How many times did you read the word clearly like you were suppose to understand it better, and didn't.

Maybe that is why people did not comment on my last post too many WTBTS quotes. LOL

Clicks in the "lie"

as a former witness..i always felt that there were people at the hall who excluded others on purpose.

this can be from inviting people out to dinner, a event, or even field service.

i knew that field service was nothing but a joke becase no one never called me to go out in service with them.

Your feelings are right on! I wish I had that kind of insight when I was younger.

People could take the time to call you, invite you out in service, invite you over for dinner, or let you know about the next get togethers. It should not matter if your single or married.

It was all very strange! Prior to getting reinstated I attended other churches and the people were very nice and invited me over their houses, and I became part of the end group because I believed in Christ!

Would you quote someone who did not prove your point very well? Like Upton Sinclair!

How about all the past WTBTS or Bible Student books prior to 1950s that are quoted like important historical books in the Revelation Book? Yet, the Jehovah Witnesses are not allow to read them to see if they agree or not with the publishers view points.
